The families are demanding a ceasefire and a hostage exchange agreement to be signed in Gaza from the government. Israeli hostage families have been holding protests throughout a year of ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip.
In various regions of Israel, there were expressions of dissatisfaction towards Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The crowd, carrying photos of the hostages, chanted slogans demanding their return. One of the hostage relatives criticized Netanyahu’s war strategies, saying, “It was a nightmare of a year. I tell the Prime Minister – they won’t remember the operations, they won’t remember all these stunts; they will forever remember the hostages.” Women in Tel Aviv also formed a human chain along the highway in memory of more than 100 Israeli hostages.
The families of hostages held by Hamas in Israel are angry with the government. They were on the streets every Saturday throughout the year for demonstrations. In fact, Prime Minister Netanyahu was already the focus of criticism before October 7 due to judicial reform. The anger directed at the Prime Minister in the past year has now been joined by the families of the hostages held by Hamas. The families of the hostages have also occasionally organized protests in the Israeli Parliament, the Knesset.
