In Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index gained 0.53 percent in the first half of the day, reaching 9,157.54 points. Moving in an upward trend in the first half of the day, the BIST 100 index reached 9,157.54 points with an increase of 48.20 points compared to the previous close as of 1:00 pm. The total trading volume was 29.2 billion Turkish liras. The banking index gained 0.47 percent, while the holding index gained 1.19 percent. Among the sector indices, the metal household industry gained the most with 1.68 percent, while sports decreased the most by 1.57 percent. Following the employment data released in the U.S. last week, the global markets started the week on a positive note as expectations of a “soft landing” for the economy gained strength. Analysts noted that the domestic treasury cash balance would be monitored in the afternoon, mentioning that technically, the resistance levels for the BIST 100 index are at 9,200 and 9,300, while the support levels are at 8,850 and 8,700 points.
