As the war in Gaza enters its first year, the Israeli forces’ massacres against displaced civilians in the region continue. According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, this time the Israeli army targeted a mosque in the center of the Gaza Strip. The air strike resulted in the death of at least 18 Palestinians and injuries to dozens.
The attack was carried out on the Shuheda el Aksa mosque near the El Aksa Hospital in Deyr el Balah.

Witnesses indicated that the number of casualties could increase due to the mosque being used to shelter displaced people.
In a statement regarding the attack, the Israeli army mentioned, “A definite attack was carried out on Hamas operating in a command and control center previously serving as the ‘Shuheda el Aksa Mosque’ in the Deyr el Balah area.”
