The World Health Organization (WHO) announced that the first plane carrying medical supplies to Lebanon has landed in the capital, Beirut. According to the statement, two more flights carrying additional trauma materials, as well as mental health and cholera supplies, are planned to arrive. The Israeli military continues heavy bombardment in various regions of Lebanon.
The World Health Organization (WHO) announced that the first aid plane carrying medical supplies has landed in the capital, Beirut. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated that the first plane carrying medical supplies for thousands of Lebanese civilians injured in the attacks has reached Beirut, Lebanon. The statement mentioned, “Two more flights carrying additional trauma materials, as well as mental health and cholera supplies, are planned to arrive this afternoon. Another flight is scheduled to arrive in Beirut tomorrow. We thank the government of the United Arab Emirates for their swift and significant support.”
The Israeli military launched an attack today on the town of Marjayoun in southern Lebanon. Hospital director Mounes Klakesh reported that the attack hit approximately five meters away from the main entrance of the hospital, leading to a temporary evacuation decision for the health personnel. Klakesh stated, “No health workers were injured, but we have decided on a temporary evacuation until the security situation is clarified.”
