Electric vehicle numbers surpass petrol vehicles in Norway

In Norway, the European country rich in oil and gas, the number of electric vehicles has surpassed the number of petrol vehicles. According to data released by the Norwegian Road Traffic Information Council, out of 2.8 million registered passenger cars in the country, 754,303 are electric and 753,905 are petrol. Norway, with a daily production of 4 million barrels of oil equivalent, is the largest oil and gas producer in Europe. The country aims to be carbon neutral by 2030, and despite record levels of oil and gas investment in Norway this year, strong investments in this sector are expected until 2025. Nevertheless, there is a high level of interest in electric vehicles in Norway. Additionally, it is estimated that there will be 3.1 million electric vehicles on Norwegian roads by 2030. Tax incentives are provided for the purchase of electric vehicles in the country, and electric vehicle owners find free charging facilities in many places. 9 out of 10 vehicles sold in the country are electric, and the use of electric vehicles is encouraged in all areas. As a result, in Norway, the European country rich in oil and gas, the number of electric vehicles has surpassed the number of petrol vehicles.
