Will a new tax package come? Minister Şimşek puts an end

Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek has put an end to expectations of a new tax package. Minister Şimşek stated that taxes on stocks and cryptocurrencies are no longer on their agenda. Responding to questions from the Economy Newspaper, Şimşek said, “There will be no tax package in the new legislative term aimed at increasing or decreasing general tax rates.” Highlighting the importance of the Medium Term Program, Şimşek pointed to the consistency of the goals and figures in the Program. “MEDIUM TERM PROGRAM AS A GUIDE FOR THE PRIVATE SECTOR” Emphasizing the importance of the Medium Term Program, Şimşek pointed out that the goals in the Program are binding for the public sector and serve as a guide for the private sector. He mentioned, “Businesses should consider the Medium Term Program as their guide. If the private sector takes the Program into account in their plans, it will be beneficial for them as well.”

814 BILLION LIRA IN SAVINGS

Regarding the effectiveness of savings measures, Şimşek provided information that a total of 814 billion lira in savings has been achieved through spending discipline and savings measures so far. “FISCAL POLICY IN ACTION” Stressing that the existing fiscal policy is strongly in action in the fight against inflation, Mehmet Şimşek conveyed that beyond the base effect in 2025, there will be a permanent decrease in inflation achieved due to the delayed impact of monetary policy.
