Reports indicate that Israel has seized 57 acres of land in the northern city of Kalkilya in the occupied West Bank. According to Israeli data, over 720,000 armed “Israeli civilians” reside on Palestinian lands seized through confiscation in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
The Separation Wall (Wall of Shame) and Settlement Resistance Council, affiliated with the Palestinian Liberation Organization, issued a written statement on the matter. The statement mentioned that “Israeli authorities announced the confiscation of 57 acres of land in the village of Kefr Kaddum under a military order.”
“BUFFER ZONE” AIM The council noted that Israel aims to establish a “buffer zone” around the Jewish settlement of “Kadumim” built on the confiscated lands. Last Thursday, the council revealed that Israeli authorities seized 8 acres of land in the occupied city of Jericho and the Eastern Agvar region belonging to the village of Fasayil. It was reported that in recent times, there has been an increase in land confiscation operations for military and security reasons, with “military orders” seizing ten locations in September.
720 THOUSAND “ARMED” CIVILIANS Since Benjamin Netanyahu’s government took office in 2022, there has been a significant increase in forced land seizures by Israeli authorities and settler Israelis for housing construction for Jews in East Jerusalem and the West Bank. Israeli data shows that over 720,000 armed “Israeli civilians” are residing on Palestinian lands seized through confiscation in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
