An island located in the Beyşehir Lake, Turkey’s largest freshwater lake, is looking for a new owner with a price of 9 dollars per square meter. The island, named “Çeçen Island”, is situated in the Gölkaşı neighborhood on the shores of Beyşehir Lake, 12 kilometers away from the town center.
Spanning 550,000 square meters in a rectangular shape with a view of Anamas Mountain and the lake, the island is used for agriculture and animal husbandry. Livestock and farming equipment are transported to the island located 2 kilometers away from the neighborhood by boat.
The decision to sell the island, inherited through heritage, was made by the owner, who reached an agreement with a real estate company. Investors and other interested parties come to the area to conduct field research regarding the sale of the island at a rate of 9 dollars per square meter.
Ali Navruz, the Muhtar of Gölkaşı neighborhood, mentioned there are several islands connected to the neighborhood, some of which are used for agriculture and animal husbandry. “Çeçen Island is up for sale with an estimated price of around 165 million TL. It has a total size of 550 acres. Livestock and agriculture activities are carried out on this island. It is now being put up for sale. I know there is only one deed for the island. Some visitors came recently, but I think they couldn’t reach an agreement,” Navruz said.
Navruz noted that access to the island is possible with a boat that can carry loads up to 10 tons, which they built with their own resources.
Samet Ok, the owner of the real estate company handling the sale of the island, expressed excitement about conducting an island sale in Konya. “There is no place like this in the city. This is the only island for sale here. It extends from north to south for 2 kilometers, and the east to west section reaches up to 400 meters. It is a place with natural beauty. There is high demand. The price per square meter is set at 9 US dollars. We are awaiting our customers,” he stated.
