Baykar CEO Haluk Bayraktar Responds to Allegations on Social Media

2 Mins Read

The General Manager of Baykar, Haluk Bayraktar, reacted to the allegations circulating on social media about the company, stating, “We are accustomed to the ‘false flag’ operations carried out against us on social media. We are determined not to sacrifice our national achievements to social media operations.”

Responding to the allegations about Baykar on social media, CEO Haluk Bayraktar raised questions such as, “Have you seen any criticism about the Herons supplied from Israel or other military products purchased from abroad for billions of dollars so far? Do you remember any discussions on these topics on social media?” Bayraktar reminded that Turkey procured Heron drones from Israel twenty years ago at a cost of hundreds of millions of dollars. He also pointed out that these drones were unarmed and stated, “These systems, procured at a cost 5-10 times higher than their domestic counterparts, posed both high costs and operational difficulties. Turkey encountered many problems while using these drones and could not find solutions.” Emphasizing that Turkey has taken revolutionary steps in this field over the past 20 years, Bayraktar noted, “Today, we manufacture the most advanced UAVs and meet our needs much more cost-effectively. Moreover, Turkey has become the leader in the global market in this field.”

Bayraktar highlighted the dominant role of Turkish companies and their significant presence among major sponsors at the ADEX International Defense Exhibition in brotherly country Azerbaijan as a concrete sign of this success. It is only possible to take pride in this development. “We are accustomed to the ‘false flag’ operations carried out against us on social media. We are determined not to sacrifice our national achievements to social media operations.”
