In Sakarya, 130,025 out of the 172,914 vehicles produced in the first 8 months of the year were exported, accounting for 75.2%. Sakarya, with $4,018,739 in foreign sales between January and August, ranked 7th in exports after Istanbul, Kocaeli, Bursa, Izmir, Ankara, and Gaziantep. Automotive products made up 87.8% of Sakarya’s exports in the first 8 months of the year. Exporting vehicles such as cars, minibuses, buses, small trucks, vans, and tractors worldwide, Sakarya contributed $3,530,162,000 in foreign currency income to the country’s economy during that period. According to Automotive Industry Association data, out of the 909,292 vehicles produced in Turkey in the first 8 months of the year, 649,971 were sent abroad. Sakarya alone exported 130,025 out of the 172,914 vehicles it produced, equal to 75.2%. Thus, Sakarya continued to stand out among the leading cities in the sector by meeting 19% of Turkey’s vehicle production and 20% of its exports. With manufacturers like Toyota, Otokar, and TürkTraktör operating in Sakarya, a total of 172,914 vehicles were produced in 8 months, including 139,218 cars, 1,386 minibusses, 1,075 buses, 718 small trucks, 86 vans, and 30,431 tractors, averaging 709 vehicles per day coming off the assembly line. Toyota ranked first in production and exports, followed by TürkTraktör in second and Otokar in third place. Toyota produced 139,218 cars during the January-August period, exporting 118,555 of them. Otokar produced 3,265 vehicles consisting of buses, minibusses, vans, and small trucks during the same period, exporting 1,490 of them. TürkTraktör, on the other hand, sold 9,980 out of the 30,431 tractors it produced abroad.
