Following the killing of Hezbollah leader Hasan Nasrallah, President Joe Biden of the United States made statements regarding the matter.

Biden stated that Nasrallah and Hezbollah were responsible for the deaths of hundreds of Americans, emphasizing that Nasrallah’s death in an Israeli airstrike is a measure of justice for numerous victims, including Americans, Israelis, and Lebanese civilians.

Continuing his statement, he expressed full support for the United States’ right to self-defense against Hezbollah, Hamas, Houthis, and other terrorist groups supported by Iran. Biden also called on the Defense Secretary to strengthen U.S. military forces’ defense position in the Middle East “to deter aggression and reduce the risk of a wider regional conflict,” stating, “Our goal is to diplomatically de-escalate the ongoing conflicts in both Gaza and Lebanon.”
