3 Mins Read

The death toll is rising in the US attack on the Ras Isa Port in Yemen. Hamas condemned the attack, which has claimed the lives of 74 people, as a war crime. According to a statement from the Health Ministry affiliated with the Houthis, the number of casualties from the US air raid on the Ras Isa Port in the city of Hudaydah has reached 74 dead and 171 injured. The statement reported that health and civil defense teams were continuing search and rescue operations. A previous report on Al-Masirah TV, which had stated that US warplanes had targeted the Ras Isa Port in the district of Es-Salif in Hudaydah twice, mentioned that 58 people, including health workers, had died in the attack, with 126 others being injured.

HAMAS: US COMMITTED WAR CRIME
Hamas denounced the US air raid on the Ras Isa Port in the city of Hudaydah, Yemen, which resulted in the deaths of 74 people, as a “war crime.” In a written statement from Hamas, the attack by the US that led to the deaths and injuries of dozens of people in Hudaydah, including health workers, was condemned. The statement expressed, “This brutal assault is a clear violation of Yemen’s sovereignty and is unequivocally a war crime; it confirms the continued aggressive American policies aimed at free peoples rejecting Zionist and American hegemony in the region. The US attack on the people of Yemen is an extension of the genocide against our people in the Gaza Strip and is part of the joint American-Zionist assaults targeting our peoples.”

US: AIM TO WEAKEN HOUTHIS’ POWER SOURCES
In a statement from the US Central Command (CENTCOM) regarding the attack, it was emphasized that the Ras Isa fuel port was targeted as part of the latest attacks against the Houthis supported by Iran, with the aim to eliminate the fuel sources used illegally by the Houthis for over a decade to terrorize the region. The purpose of these attacks is to weaken the economic power sources of the Houthis, who continue to exploit and cause great suffering to their citizens.

HOUTHIS HAD RESUMED “SEA OPERATIONS”
Back on March 7, the Iran-backed Houthis announced that they were giving Israel four days to allow aid to enter Gaza, or they would resume sea operations against Israel. On March 15, US President Donald Trump had instructed the military to launch a “major attack” against the Houthis in Yemen through an announcement on the Truth Social platform. Houthi leader Abdulmalik al-Houthi also warned that as long as he continued their attacks, obstruction of sea voyages would include Washington as well, with US planes and warships being targets for the Houthis.
