The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul fell by 0.26 percent to 9,372 points in the first half of the day. Moving with a downward trend in the first half, the BIST 100 index dropped to 9,372 points by a decrease of 24.36 points and 0.26 percent as of 1:00 pm compared to the previous closing. The total trading volume reached 33.3 billion Turkish liras. The banking index lost 0.58 percent, while the holding index decreased by 0.25 percent. Mining was the sector with the highest gain, up by 0.85 percent, while the forestry and paper printing industry had the biggest loss with 1.43 percent. The negotiation process entering into effect regarding the reciprocal tariffs applied by the US increased optimism in global markets, with the US and European markets closed today due to a holiday. Analysts stated that both locally and internationally, data agenda will be calm today, mentioning that technically, the support levels for the BIST 100 index are at 9,300 and 9,200, with resistance positions at 9,450 and 9,550 points.
