Minister of Industry and Technology, Kacır, announced that 394 billion lira will be allocated to the region within the scope of the Eastern Black Sea Project. Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır stated that they plan to allocate 394 billion lira to the region in a five-year period with the DOKAP action plan. Kacır said, “Within the scope of the DOKAP Action Plan, we plan to allocate 394 billion lira for 158 projects that we aim to implement over a five-year period.” The DOKAP includes the provinces of Artvin, Bayburt, Giresun, Gümüşhane, Ordu, Rize, Samsun, Trabzon, Tokat, Amasya, and Çorum. The project aims to accelerate the development of these 11 provinces where six million people live. Within the project, priority will be given to investments in the medical, defense, machinery, and automotive ancillary sectors in Samsun, while investments in the shipbuilding industry sectors will be prioritized in Trabzon. Kacır also stated that they aim to increase the agricultural gross domestic product of the region from 130 billion lira to 209 billion lira and the improved pasture area from 2.8 million decares to 3.5 million decares. He also mentioned that they have allocated 30.3 billion lira to support investments in the tourism sector, adding, “We plan to increase the number of tourists visiting the region from 2.8 million to 4.5 million and the number of overnight stays from 4.9 million to 9 million.” A development move worth 500 billion lira was launched for the Southeastern Anatolia region to increase regional development. The Konve Plain Project (KOP) for the Konya Plain, which includes 350 billion TL investment focusing on irrigation, was announced in January. Deputy President Cevdet Yılmaz stated that the projects will continue in Erzurum.
