Trump: “We’ve Solved Inflation”

2 Mins Read

President Trump claimed to have “solved inflation” while commenting on the news that Nvidia will start manufacturing in the US. US President Donald Trump referred to the consumer price index for the month of March and asserted that they have solved the problem of inflation. The 2.4% annual inflation rate in the US that Trump mentioned was reported in the monthly consumer price report published on Monday. However, many economists remain cautious about one data point forming an overall economic trend. Economists and consumers are also concerned that Trump’s implemented tariffs may harm the economy by raising prices.

TRUMP’S REMARKS ON NVIDIA

Furthermore, Trump welcomed the decision of tech giant Nvidia to produce its artificial intelligence supercomputers for the first time in the US. Stating, “I knew this was coming, but I didn’t expect it to be on this scale,” Trump commented, “This is a major development. And the reason they are doing this is the elections on November 5th and the so-called ‘tariffs’.” Nvidia had announced allocating over a million square feet of production space in Arizona to manufacture and test unique Blackwell chips and develop AI supercomputers in Texas. With this investment, the company aims to create half a trillion dollars worth of AI infrastructure over the next four years. This announcement followed immediately after the Trump administration announced that the temporary exemption from tariffs for electronic products such as smartphones and laptops was over and officials were working on a new tariff approach for the semiconductor industry.

“A TIMEFRAME IS NEEDED FOR CAR MANUFACTURERS”

Trump also mentioned planning to provide temporary exemptions regarding tariffs for car manufacturers. Stating, “Car manufacturers need some time to reorganize their supply chains,” Trump emphasized that these companies need to reduce their dependence on imports. Trump also mentioned that he had spoken to Apple CEO Tim Cook and said that he had “helped him” by exempting some electronic products imported from China from tariffs. Using the words, “I don’t want to harm anyone, but ultimately we will achieve a great success for our country,” Trump defended that trade policies would strengthen the US in the long run.

“TALKING ABOUT ‘HOW TO DECEIVE THE UNITED STATES’ WHEN THEY GET TOGETHER”

Moreover, the US President made a speculative statement regarding discussions between China and Vietnam, saying, “They may be getting together and talking about ‘how to deceive the United States’.”
