Renowned personalities, including Katy Perry, embarked on a journey to space with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos’ rocket company. Katy Perry, known for songs like “California Gurls,” “Dark Horse,” and “Roar,” went to space.
The journey planned by Blue Origin, the aerospace and space company owned by Amazon’s founder Jeff Bezos, includes names like Aisha Bowe, Amanda Nguyễn, Gayle King, Kerianne Flynn, and Lauren Sánchez. The space flight, part of the NS-31 mission, will last approximately 10 minutes and take place today. The spaceflight will be conducted using a rocket named “New Shepard.”
The spacecraft will fly in space for about 4 minutes before returning to Earth, and the entire journey may last a little over 10 minutes.
The New Shepard rocket, which will travel approximately 100 kilometers towards the sky and go slightly above the Karman Line, will reach a speed over three times the speed of sound.
Blue Origin has been conducting paid flights lasting 10 minutes as part of space tourism since 2021. For the first time in over 60 years, an all-female crew will participate in a space mission.
The final crew consists of 6 women. The crew members, famous personalities, reportedly received astronaut training. American singer Katy Perry, who also spoke to AP, said, “Every day I tell myself, ‘You’re brave, you’re brave, you’re doing this to inspire a very different person for the next generation, especially young girls.'”

“I’m in space training, and there’s a lot to digest. We’ve almost completed the day, and they showed us the capsule, and we’re doing simulations in another capsule. The capsule is named Tortoise,” Perry said in a previous statement, “If you told me I’d be part of the first female crew to go to space, I’d believe you… There was nothing my childhood imagination couldn’t reach.”
