Russia Strikes Ukraine’s Sumy Region: 31 Dead

2 Mins Read

President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, announced that 31 people lost their lives in the attack by Russia on the Sumy region.

Ukrainian Interior Minister Igor Klimenko stated in a written statement on his Telegram account that the Russian army carried out a ballistic missile attack on the Sumy region.

President Zelensky, in his statement regarding the attack, said, “It is known that 31 people have lost their lives so far in Sumy as a result of Russian ballistic missiles hitting. Among the deceased are two children. I offer my condolences to their families and loved ones.”

Zelensky added the following to his statement:

“More than 80 people, including 10 children, were injured. Necessary assistance is being provided to everyone. It is crucial for everyone in the world not to remain silent or indifferent. Pressure must be exerted on Russia for the war to end and the safety of the people to be ensured. If there is no truly strong pressure, if there is not enough support from Ukraine, Russia will continue to prolong this war. It has been two months since Putin ignored America’s full and unconditional ceasefire proposal. Sadly, those in Moscow are convinced they can keep on killing. We need to take action to change the situation.”
