In the United States, a woman arranged to have her former boyfriend and his daughter killed through a dating app. However, the person she thought was a hitman turned out to be an informant instead.
A woman in New Jersey, USA, was accused of attempting to hire a hitman to murder her former boyfriend and his daughter through the online dating app Tinder. After paying the person she believed was a hitman, the woman was arrested and decided to be held in custody pending trial.
OFFERED $12,000 FOR THE MURDER According to CNN International, 26-year-old Jaclyn Diiorio, also a former police officer in Philadelphia, decided to hire a hitman to kill her former boyfriend and his 19-year-old daughter. Diiorio then established contact with someone through the dating app who turned out to be an undercover informant.
Official documents obtained by CNN reveal that Diiorio and the person she met on Tinder shared phone numbers, exchanged messages, and met in person. During their conversations, Diiorio expressed her desire to have her 57-year-old former boyfriend and his daughter killed. The suspect then offered $12,000 to the informant, who was actually an undercover operative.
PAID $500, ARRESTED In a statement from the Camden County Prosecutors Office, Diiorio was arrested last week in Gloucester, south of Philadelphia. According to a sworn written statement, the suspect was apprehended after paying the individual $500 in cash.
Officials mentioned that the woman was found carrying pills in an unlabeled bottle, believed to contain alprazolam used to treat anxiety and panic disorders. The suspect was charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, one count of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, and one count of possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
During a court hearing on Friday, prosecutors revealed that Diiorio had also attempted to plan the murder of the father and daughter on another occasion. The judge, Yolanda Rodriguez, denied the suspect’s bail request and scheduled the next hearing for June 11th.
