According to preliminary reports from Germany’s GFZ Earth Sciences Center, the tremor that occurred around noon was at a depth of 10 kilometers and had its epicenter in neighboring Myanmar. No information was provided regarding damages or casualties. Residents in the affected area, fearing the worst, rushed out of high-rise apartment buildings and hotels in the central area of heavily populated Bangkok.
