CLICK HERE FOR VIDEO OF THE EARTHQUAKE MOMENTAccording to data from the US Geological Survey (USGS), two earthquakes of 7.7 and 6.4 magnitudes were recorded consecutively about 16 kilometers northwest of Sagaing region, north of Myanmar’s capital Naypyidaw. Cracks were observed on a road in Naypyidaw, Myanmar’s capital. After the powerful earthquake, the Thai Prime Minister announced an emergency meeting would be held.
In the metropolis of Bangkok, where more than 17 million people live, alarm systems were activated, citizens were evacuated from apartments and hotels using stairs, and took to the streets. It was reported that the tremors were felt in many neighboring countries, causing fear and panic. There is no information about any damage or casualties. People in other countries, also gripped by fear, streamed out of tall apartment buildings and hotels in the center of densely populated Bangkok.
