Palestine Supporters Labeled “Fascist” by Him: Gaza Question Angers Minister

1 Mins Read

New Zealand Deputy Prime Minister Peters described Palestine supporters as “fascist”, saying “We must get rid of them”. During his speech at the Christchurch City Hall on March 23, New Zealand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Winston Peters harshly reacted to protesters who asked him questions. Peters referred to Palestine supporters who asked him, “What have you done about the genocide in Gaza?” as “fascists”. Targeting the group of Palestine supporters protesting outside the hall, Peters said, “These so-called protesters outside don’t know what geopolitics or democracy looks like, but they have the audacity to try to teach you and disturb you as if they have an idea about what they are talking about. Shame on you.” Following his remarks towards the protesters, Peters responded to a person who asked, “What have you done about the genocide in Gaza?” by saying, “See, this is it. Here we go. I knew we couldn’t wait. This is what fascists are like. Go home.” Peters requested the security to intervene with the person asking questions and said, “We must get rid of them. I ask security to get rid of them immediately.”
