The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul gained 2.82 percent. The market closed the day at 9,299.36 points. The BIST 100 index increased by 254.72 points compared to the previous close, with a total trading volume of 183.4 billion Turkish lira. The banking index rose by 1.70 percent, while the holding index saw a 2.91 percent increase. Among the sector indices, transportation saw the highest increase with 5.51 percent, while financial leasing factoring had the biggest loss at 0.67 percent. Amid uncertainties surrounding the U.S. administration’s tariff policies in the global markets, search for direction continued, focusing on a packed data agenda. Analysts pointed out that tomorrow the real sector confidence index and capacity utilization rate domestically and in Japan the Bank of Japan (BoJ) meeting minutes, new home sales in the U.S., Ifo business confidence index, consumer confidence index, Richmond Fed manufacturing index, and Germany’s Ifo business confidence index will be closely watched. They also noted that technically, the BIST 100 index has resistance at 9,300 and 9,400 points, while support lies at 9,100 and 9,000 levels.
