The transformer fire that broke out at Heathrow Airport in London has been extinguished.
It has been reported that the airport is currently fully operational.
The fire forced the closure of Europe’s busiest air hub and caused travel chaos.
According to AFP news agency, an airport spokesperson stated today, “We can confirm that Heathrow is open and fully operational today. Airport staff are continuing to do everything they can to support passengers affected by the outage at an external electricity substation yesterday.”
It was also mentioned that traffic on the road leading to Heathrow has resumed with the resumption of flights.
