Subscribers will now be able to see how much government support is applied on both their electricity and natural gas bills. The implementation will begin on April 1.
Following the directive from the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) sent letters to distribution companies for adjustments to be made on electricity bills. BOTAŞ also initiated work for natural gas. These efforts have reached completion, and a timetable has been established.
Starting from April 1, 2025, the amount of government support to be accrued on bills will also be included. Both the actual cost and support amount will be visible simultaneously on the bill. The amount to be paid will be stated at the bottom. This application is only valid for monthly bills of residential subscribers. Commercial premises, industrial users, and electricity producers will not receive this information. As per the regulation introduced on February 1 for electricity bills, residential subscribers consuming less than 417 kilowatt-hours monthly are eligible for government support. Government support in lower consumption tiers for electricity is at 60%, while in higher tiers, it is at 40%. In natural gas, a government support rate of 65% is reflected on the bill.
