Following President Donald Trump’s statement that the US would intervene in case the conflict in Ukraine turns into the 3rd World War, the US Army is preparing to test its new long-range missile.
In order to provide reliable and accurate weapons for soldiers in the field, the US Army is gearing up to test the new generation long-range missile. This move comes after Trump’s recent statement on Fox News about US intervention if the conflict in Ukraine evolves into the 3rd World War, raising the question, “Is Trump preparing for the Third World War?” According to a report in the Daily Mail, the launch is scheduled to take place tomorrow from the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.
COSTING $3.5 MILLION PER ROUND The new missile, a Precision Strike Missile (PrSM) developed by the US army and Lockheed Martin, will be launched as part of tests. Prior to this launch, similar tests were conducted in February at the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. The cost of each PrSM round is estimated at around $3.5 million. Not only is the US Army testing the PrSM missile, but they have also opened a new facility to test the HAWK missile system. Deployed in 1959, the HAWK missile system is a surface-to-air guided missile used for air defense against drones and slow-moving threats. During a period of increased tension in Ukraine and new threats in the Middle East, the testing of such high-tech weapons has sparked speculations about Trump preparing for the Third World War. TALKS WITH RUSSIA AND UKRAINE Trump mentioned that his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin went ‘great,’ but there was no peace agreement. Following the meeting with Putin, Trump had a one-hour phone call with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy. While the US President described the conversation as “very good,” Zelenskyy expressed his belief in achieving lasting peace this year under Trump’s leadership.
