Thousands of Israelis gathered outside Netanyahu’s residence, demanding the government’s resignation. The protesters denounced the government’s attempt to dismiss the director of the internal intelligence agency, Shin Bet, and the new attacks on Gaza. In Israel, tens of thousands of people held a demonstration against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his government’s decision to remove Shin Bet Director Ronen Bar from his position and resume attacks on Gaza. In front of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s residence in West Jerusalem, hundreds of people gathered to protest, calling for Netanyahu’s government to resign and for an early election. Carrying Israeli flags, the demonstrators protested the government’s decision to launch new attacks on the Gaza Strip, accusing Netanyahu of starting attacks on Gaza for political reasons and risking the lives of Israeli prisoners there. Protesters continued their action with banners and signs while Israeli police intervened with the demonstrators. At least 970 people were reported dead in Israel’s 48-hour attacks on Gaza.
