There has been increased activity in the markets. The stock market experienced a decrease of over 5%. The dollar surpassed 41 lira, while the euro exceeded 45 lira, setting new records. Meanwhile, gram gold reached its peak at 4,000 lira.
The Borsa Istanbul BIST 100 index started the day at 10,060 points with a 6.87% decrease. Following a sharp drop in the index, the circuit breaker system kicked in at 09:55, temporarily halting trading. Once trading resumed, the index was down by over 5%. Both the banking and holding indices lost 7.02% and 6.69% respectively. While all sector indices fell, the communication sector had the biggest drop at 7.56%. Analysts noted that from a technical standpoint, the support levels for the BIST 100 index are 10,000 and 9,900, with resistance at 10,100 and 10,200 points.
THE RISE IN THE DOLLAR AND EURO INTENSIFIES
The Dollar/TL surpassed 40 with an increase of over 10%. Euro/TL also exceeded the 45 level. Additionally, the Sterling/TL tested above the 50 range.
GRAM GOLD AT 4,000 LIRA
Amid the rise in the dollar and ounce gold, gram gold reached a record high. For the first time in history, gram gold exceeded 4,000 lira.
