The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul remained steady in the first half of the day. By 13:00, it had decreased by 0.01% or 0.71 points to 10,860.12 points compared to the previous closing. The total trading volume reached 58.2 billion Turkish lira. While the banking index lost 0.96%, the holding index gained 0.56%. Among the sector indices, construction saw the highest increase with 2.83%, whereas forestry and paper printing had the most significant loss with 1.42%. Globally, the protectionist trade stance of US President Donald Trump continued to complicate pricing despite recoveries following last week’s selling pressure. Analysts noted that domestic data agenda would be quiet in the afternoon, while intense data agenda in the US, including industrial production and capacity utilization rates, would be monitored. From a technical perspective, they highlighted that the support levels for the BIST 100 index were at 10,800 and 10,700, with resistance at 10,900 and 11,000 points.
