An airplane took off in Roatan Island, Honduras, and seconds later crashed into the water. As a result of the accident, 6 people lost their lives.
In Honduras, a small airplane carrying 17 people crashed into the sea, resulting in the initial loss of 6 lives. Roatan Governor Hugo Varela stated to journalists that the plane took off from Juan Manuel Galvez Airport heading to Trujillo and shortly after crashed into the waters off Roatan Island. Varela mentioned that during search and rescue operations, the lifeless bodies of 6 individuals have been recovered so far, and that the teams are continuing their efforts. According to local media, the plane caught fire after crashing into the sea, making the search and rescue efforts challenging.
