The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure is on the field to combat exorbitant prices. Teams are inspecting ticket prices before the holiday.
According to the information obtained, 135 procedures were carried out regarding exorbitant prices between March 10-13. 389 agencies and 5,232 buses were inspected. Companies determine the fees in the practice. However, they cannot change these figures for 4 months from the date they report to the ministry.
Teams on the field checked whether tickets were issued above these fees. A penalty of 8,173 Turkish Lira was imposed on those charging exorbitant prices. Officials stated that companies charging excessive prices can be complained about via CİMER, and the ministry carefully examines them, takes the companies’ defenses into account, and imposes punitive measures.
