Once again, the city of Geneva in Switzerland will host an informal meeting in an expanded format on the Cyprus issue. Representatives from the Turkish and Greek Cypriot sides, as well as the guarantor countries Turkey, Greece, and the UK, will attend the meeting tomorrow and on March 18 under the auspices of United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
Geneva, Switzerland will once again host an informal meeting in an expanded format on the Cyprus issue. According to diplomatic sources, the meeting is not seen as a continuation of past negotiation processes or the beginning of a new negotiation process. The meeting, chaired by United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, will be attended by the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Ersin Tatar, the President of the Greek Cypriot Administration, Nikos Hristodulidis, and the Foreign Ministers of Turkey and Greece.
Additionally, the UK’s Minister of State for Europe and North America, Stephen Doughty, will also be present at the meeting.
During the extensively attended informal meeting, there will be exchanges of views regarding the upcoming period on the Cyprus issue.
