Severe storms have paralyzed life in the United States. Tornadoes that swept through Texas and Missouri overnight left behind extensive damage, with at least 17 people losing their lives. Adverse weather conditions affected a large part of the country, particularly the states of Texas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Mississippi, and Alabama. Cindy Barkley, a state official, reported that three people lost their lives in traffic accidents caused by dust storms in the Amarillo region of Texas, with visibility nearly reduced to zero. Officials in Missouri also announced that 11 people lost their lives due to the storm in the Ozark region. Authorities shared photos of the devastation caused by the storm, noting that the full extent of the damage will become apparent as the day breaks. In Arkansas, officials disclosed that three people lost their lives in the destruction caused by the storm. Adverse weather conditions in Oklahoma led to more than 130 fires and evacuation orders in some areas. Strong winds and dust storms caused trees and power lines to topple in many parts of the country, resulting in power outages. Emergency notifications were issued in Alabama, Kansas, and Missouri due to weather conditions and fire threats. Meteorologists predict that the severe storms will continue over the weekend, with tornadoes expected to hit Mississippi and Alabama. Officials also warn about the risk of flash floods.
