Russian forces launched attacks on energy facilities in Dnipro and Odesa throughout the night yesterday. Power outages were reported in the region.
Ukraine’s energy company DTEK stated that Russia conducted a “major attack” on energy facilities in Dnipro and Odesa overnight. According to Al Jazeera, the attacks caused significant damage and led to power cuts in both regions.
The company mentioned in a statement, “We are working hard to restore electricity to the residents in the region.” Moscow has targeted Ukraine’s power plants multiple times in the past three years of the ongoing war to disrupt weapon production.
