Reports indicate that US authorities are planning to tighten entry regulations for citizens of 43 countries, including Russia and Belarus.
According to Russia’s TASS news agency, entry regulations are set to be implemented for citizens of 43 countries as reported by the prominent US newspaper New York Times.
Washington will not completely close its borders to Russian and Belarusian citizens. However, only wealthy entrepreneurs visiting the US for business purposes will be able to obtain visas. Tourists and immigrants arriving from Russia and Belarus will not be allowed entry, according to sources within the US government cited by the newspaper.
New entry rules to the United States will affect 41 more countries.
THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CROSS THE BORDER
It was reported that the US State Department proposed categorizing these countries into three groups. Citizens of countries in the first group will be banned from crossing the US border. These countries include Afghanistan, Bhutan, Cuba, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, and Yemen. The second category implies significant restrictions on visiting the US. Along with Russia and Belarus, eight more countries are included in this category: Eritrea, Haiti, Laos, Myanmar, Pakistan, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Turkmenistan. US authorities included countries with insufficient information for screenings and those requiring partial or complete travel bans in the third group.
These countries are Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Dominica, Equatorial Guinea, Gambia, Liberia, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, Sao Tome and Principe, Vanuatu, and Zimbabwe. It was also noted that the list and categorization of countries mentioned above were developed by the State Department a few weeks ago and may now be subject to change.
