Egyptian wrestler Eşref Mahrus, aged 43, achieved a formidable feat by pulling a 279-ton train while fasting, adding a new milestone to the Guinness World Records. The extraordinary attempt took place at Ramses Train Station in the capital city of Cairo, in front of media representatives, spectators, and the Guinness World Records team. Known as “Kabonga,” the Egyptian athlete Mahrus shattered the previous record of pulling a 221-ton train by successfully pulling a 279-ton train for 10 meters amidst enthusiastic cheers from the viewers. Mahrus, in an interview with AA, mentioned that he hauled the 279-ton train solely with shoulder power while fasting, surpassing the 260-ton record set in 2003 by also pulling the same train with his teeth an hour later.
Having previously broken records, Mahrus boasted of holding a total of 6 records in Guinness, stating that his first record was in 2022 when he pulled a 16-ton vehicle with his teeth. Kabonga, who competes in freestyle wrestling, is renowned for his extraordinary endeavors in pulling huge cars and trains.
