1 Mins Read

The United States Postal Service is preparing to lay off 10,000 people. The service’s president, DeJoy, announced that they will collaborate with DOGE to increase efficiency in postal services. The USPS is planning to lay off 10,000 workers by collaborating with the Government Efficiency Department (DOGE) to increase the institution’s efficiency. USPS President Louis DeJoy announced that they will work with DOGE to increase efficiency in postal services. DeJoy mentioned that the agency’s retirement funds have been mismanaged, leading to many expenses related to worker compensation and that the DOGE team will help improve the institution’s efficiency. As part of this, DeJoy plans to lay off 10,000 employees within 30 days through a voluntary early retirement program. Approximately 640,000 people are employed by USPS to deliver from cities to rural areas. After taking office, U.S. President Donald Trump terminated the jobs of thousands of employees in federal institutions through DOGE. Following mass layoffs, especially targeting new hires, many unions and organizations across the country filed lawsuits against the Trump administration.
