Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin is getting ready to reject the US-proposed “30-day ceasefire” proposal.
Zelensky evaluated Putin’s response to the “30-day ceasefire” proposal provided by the US in a written statement on X account. Claiming that Russian President Putin is preparing to reject the mentioned proposal, Zelensky used the words: “We all have now heard extremely predictable and manipulative words from Russia, Putin’s response to the ceasefire idea on the front line. Right now, he is actually getting ready to reject it.”
“AFRAID TO TELL TRUMP” Zelensky argued that Putin usually attempts to make “logical solutions” impossible in similar situations. He noted, “Certainly, Putin is afraid to directly tell President Trump that he wants to keep this war going to continue killing Ukrainians. That’s why in Moscow, they surround the ceasefire idea with such preconditions that it will either fail or be prolonged as much as possible.” Pointing out that if an urgent ceasefire is established, the US has the capacity to control the situation, Zelensky stated, “This is absolutely possible with the capabilities of America and Europe.”
Accusing Russia of wanting to continue the war, Zelensky stated, “Putin has been stealing peace for years.” He also called for putting pressure on Russia through sanctions.
PUTIN THANKS TRUMP Putin thanked US President Donald Trump for his interest in the Russia-Ukraine war.
While Putin stated that they agreed on temporary ceasefires in Ukraine, he mentioned that it should provide a long-term peace and offer solutions to the problems that caused the crisis.
Putin expressed that it was a right decision to have a ceasefire in place and they would support it, but he added that there were some issues that needed to be discussed, and he mentioned that he could have a phone call with US President Donald Trump.
TRUMP CALLS FOR CEASEFIRE Trump wants to see a quick peace in Ukraine. He criticizes the high cost to American taxpayers of supporting Ukraine’s defense, as well as the significant destruction and loss of life.
US President Donald Trump expected Russia to do the same after the ceasefire agreement reached with Ukraine, stating, “Putin made a very promising statement, I would like to meet and talk with him soon.”
