NASA Astronauts Stranded in Space: Rescue Launch Postponed

2 Mins Read

The launch of the team that will replace the two NASA astronauts stranded in space has been delayed. The astronauts have been stranded in space for approximately 10 months. The launch of the four-person team to replace the two astronauts stranded at the International Space Station (ISS) by the United States Space Agency (NASA) has been postponed due to a technical issue. A technical problem occurred at the SpaceX rocket launch pad, where the team going to space to replace NASA astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore, who are stranded in space, was set to be launched. SpaceX announced that the launch planned from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center had been postponed after the problem. Williams and Wilmore were sent to the ISS on June 5, 2024, for a week-long test flight with Boeing’s new Starliner capsule. However, due to a technical malfunction in Starliner, the return date of the two astronauts was postponed, and NASA ordered the capsule to return empty. With the postponement of the launch date of SpaceX’s backup capsule taking over the mission, it is estimated that the return of the two astronauts to Earth will not be possible until the end of March or the beginning of April, and they are expected to stay in space for approximately 10 months.
