Will Tech Companies Merge for Intel?

1 Mins Read

A new allegation has been made regarding the future of chip giant Intel. It is claimed that Taiwanese chip manufacturer TSMC has offered a partnership to Nvidia, AMD, and Broadcom. A new claim has emerged about the potential sale of leading chip manufacturer Intel. According to a report on Reuters, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has proposed a joint venture that would operate Intel’s factories to American chip producers Nvidia, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), and Broadcom. Sources familiar with the matter suggest that under the proposal, the Taiwanese chip manufacturer would oversee the operations of Intel’s production centers but would not own more than 50% of the shares. While it is noted that the discussions are still in the early stages, it was reported that Trump sought support from TSMC to address the issues in the US chip industry. Sources indicated that the value of the deal has not yet been determined. Furthermore, it was mentioned that the approval of the Trump administration, which does not want Intel or the manufacturing division to be entirely foreign-owned, would be required. In early March, Trump and TSMC announced a plan to build five new factories in the US with an investment of $100 billion.
