The way has been opened for a special discount for families on inter-city buses. With the new regulation, bus companies can offer discounts of up to 40% on ticket prices for families.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that they have made it possible to apply a special discount for families during city-to-city bus trips within the scope of the 2025 Family Year.

DISCOUNTS UP TO 40% CAN BE APPLIED

Uraloğlu said, “According to the Road Transport Regulation, bus companies providing inter-city ticketed passenger transportation can offer up to a 30% discount based on the fare schedules they report to our ministry. With the new regulation, bus companies can provide discounts of up to 40% on family ticket prices.”

WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM THE DISCOUNT? Under the new regulation, when at least 2 and at most 4 people want to travel on the same bus and route with tickets, they can benefit from the discount by proving that they are a family. To benefit from the discount, passengers will only need to have the same surname or prove that they are family with a document in accordance with the relevant legislation. NOT MANDATORY

Uraloğlu announced that the regulation will not be a mandatory practice for companies.

The new regulation can be implemented starting from Monday, March 17th.
