Record Expected in Tourism

Early booking figures indicate a new record in tourism. There is a particularly strong demand coming from Germany. It is expected that the number of German tourists, which was 6 million last year, will increase to 7.5 million.

Exchange rates increased significantly below inflation last year. The Turkish Lira has become relatively more valuable. A holiday in Turkey for foreigners is no longer as cheap as it used to be in previous years. Nevertheless, there has been an increase in early bookings from Germany. Industry officials expect the number of German tourists to increase from 6 million to 7.5 million. The increase in demand is not limited to Germans; there is also strong demand from other countries. Industry officials noted that there has been a 15-20% increase in early bookings throughout Turkey, highlighting that in the Aegean Region, this figure being in the 10% range is pleasing. Turkey aims for 64 million tourists and 65 billion dollars in revenue in tourism this year.

Industry experts state that the level of early bookings indicates a record.
