Working autonomously, no need for command: Can artificial intelligence take over the world?

2 Mins Read

Chinese software engineers have developed the “world’s first” autonomous artificial intelligence tool that is independent of human guidance and can make decisions freely. The artificial intelligence tool named “Manus” can perform complex tasks without needing human instructions. While most artificial intelligence tools rely on humans to initiate tasks, Manus represents the future of a “completely autonomous artificial intelligence tool.” But can liberated artificial intelligence really take over the world?

A group of Chinese software engineers have developed the “world’s first” fully autonomous artificial intelligence tool. Named “Manus,” the device can independently carry out complex tasks without human guidance.

ABILITY TO MAKE DECISIONS ON ITS OWN ChatGPT, unlike conversational bots like Google’s Gemini or Grok that require human input to do something, Manus can make decisions on its own and complete tasks. The advanced artificial intelligence tool does not need to wait for instructions to perform any activity. For example, if a person says “Find me a house,” Manus can research, evaluate multiple factors, and provide personalized recommendations without delay.

NO NEED FOR HUMAN SUPERVISION Manus works like a manager, handling complex, multi-step workflows smoothly without using only an artificial intelligence model. Additionally, the artificial intelligence tool can work asynchronously, completing tasks in the background and informing users only when the results are ready without constant human supervision.

“A COMPLETELY AUTONOMOUS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TOOL” This is a significant development. While most artificial intelligence tools heavily rely on humans to initiate tasks, Manus represents a “completely autonomous artificial intelligence tool” that brings up exciting possibilities. IS THE WORLD READY FOR IT? Unlike other widely known artificial intelligences, Manus could pose a real threat to humans. Instead of just increasing work efficiency, it could potentially replace human workers. Beyond the potential mass unemployment, if an autonomous artificial intelligence makes a costly mistake, who will be responsible? Regulators worldwide currently do not have the capability to manage entirely independent artificial intelligence tools. It is still unknown how the rest of the world will react, but we may be on the verge of entering the era of autonomous artificial intelligence tools.
