The United Services Union (Ver.di) initiated a strike at Hamburg Airport in Germany, resulting in the cancellation of all flights.
While the warning strike at Hamburg Airport was expected to start late at night, over 100 flights scheduled for today were cancelled as the strike began in the morning.
An announcement by the airport stated, “As a result of Ver.di workers walking off their jobs, only around 10 out of the planned 144 arrivals and 139 departures were carried out today.” It was mentioned that flight cancellations were communicated to passengers via email and messages. THE MAJOR STRIKE WILL COMMENCE TONIGHT
The major strike expected to take place nationwide in Germany will commence tonight. Public and ground services employees will go on strike at 11 airports across the country.
With over 3,400 flights expected to be cancelled due to this strike, it is anticipated that 510,000 passengers will be affected.
