President Donald Trump stated that “we are on the final stretch with Iran. We cannot allow them to have nuclear weapons. We are going through an interesting period in world history but something will happen very soon, very, very soon,” at the White House.
President Trump made remarks about the Ukraine-Russia war, mentioning that it is easier to reach an agreement with Moscow and that Putin wants to end the war with Ukraine. He expressed difficulty in dealing with Ukraine and said they need to take charge and do their job. Trump also criticized Canadian officials, calling their agreement negotiations difficult and accusing Canada of taking advantage of the U.S. with tariffs on lumber and dairy products.
Trump emphasized his plans to impose the same tariff on dairy products unless Canada lowers its tariffs. He also addressed India’s high tariffs on the U.S. and called the European Union an “awful exploiter” designed to benefit from the U.S. while he is in office. Trump said everyone was taking advantage of the U.S., but this is now changing, reflecting on his efforts to reduce tariffs on India and hold the EU accountable.
Regarding the critical situation between Russia and Ukraine, Trump expressed his preference for dealing with Russia as a better alternative and reiterated that he is making efforts to end the war diplomatically. He also pointed out that Putin’s goal is to stop and resolve the conflict, which he believes anyone in a similar position would do. Trump mentioned that he expects interesting days ahead and hinted at significant developments with Iran without providing further details on his statements or intentions.
