American billionaire and senior Trump advisor Elon Musk argued that Ukraine should hold an election and that President Volodymyr Zelensky would lose a potential election by a “huge margin.” Musk quoted a post from X social media account stating that the Ukrainian opposition had confirmed their meeting with the Trump administration and targeted Zelensky. Musk shared the opinion that Ukraine should hold an election and claimed that Zelensky would lose it by a wide margin.

THEY MET WITH UKRAINIAN OPPOSITION
In a report based on three Ukrainian lawmakers by U.S.-based outlet Politico, it was claimed that after Trump’s dispute with Zelensky, his allies met with prominent figures of the Ukrainian opposition, including former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko and a member of former President Petro Poroshenko’s party. Poroshenko addressed the allegation in a statement on X account, stating that they work with their U.S. partners in a “transparent and public manner,” underscoring that the meetings were aimed at ensuring security and peace.
WHAT HAPPENED AT THE WHITE HOUSE?
During the meeting in the Oval Office on February 28 between President Trump, who criticized Zelensky as a “dictator who does not hold elections,” and the Ukrainian President, a discussion ensued, leading to the cancellation of a previously planned joint press conference and Zelensky’s departure from the White House. While Trump criticized the Ukrainian leader’s stance, Zelensky expressed expectations of support for his country.
