Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized the need for peace that will ensure the stable development of his country’s security conditions, stating, “We must go all the way, not bow to anyone.” In response to French President Macron’s remarks, Putin mentioned, “There are still people who want to return to the times of Napoleon without remembering how it ended. The mistakes of our enemies started with belittling the character of the Russian people and representatives of Russian culture.”
During a meeting with employees of the “Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation” in Russia, Putin evaluated the current situation of the Russian-Ukrainian war. Expressing their plans to achieve victory in the war, Putin stated, “We truly await victory. When peace is established, our children will be able to sleep peacefully. However, we must go all the way and not bow to anyone.” He continued, “We must choose a form of peace that will accommodate ourselves and ensure peace in our country in the long-term historical perspective. We do not need anything that belongs to others, but we will not give away what belongs to us. We need an option that will allow our country to develop stably in terms of peace and security conditions.”
In response to French President Emmanuel Macron’s remarks regarding European defense, Putin stated, “There are still people who want to return to the times of Napoleon without remembering how it ended. In fact, the mistakes of our enemies, our rivals, all started with underestimating the character of the Russian people, the representatives of Russian culture.” Macron had mentioned yesterday that Russia plans to increase its military by 2030 with more than 40 billion euros spending, including 3,000 tanks and 300 fighter jets, and continues to pose a threat to the security of Europe.
