In the town of Abano Terme near Padua, Italy, it was reported that 45 people were poisoned by smoke in a hotel fire that broke out in the morning. According to Italian Rainews24, the fire started in a technical room on the second floor of a hotel in Abano Terme around 07:30 local time, quickly affecting most of the hotel. While the fire brigade battled the fire, 273 people staying at the hotel were evacuated. A family of three with children staying on the 6th floor of the hotel was rescued using fire trucks’ ladder. It was noted that 45 people were poisoned by smoke and taken to hospital emergency rooms due to the fire. The hotel, which was damaged in the fire, is said to be unusable, and an investigation into the incident will be launched.
