A hike of 25% for residential subscribers, 15% for public and private services, 10% for industries, and 12.4% for agricultural activities has been implemented in electricity prices. However, there has been no increase for residential subscribers in natural gas prices. According to the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK), a 25% increase has been announced for residential subscribers in electricity prices. These new tariffs will be effective starting from April 5, 2025. The statement from EPDK reads as follows: “Due to the rise in electricity production and distribution costs, final retail electricity prices have been increased by 25% for residential subscriber group, 15% for public and private services sector subscriber group, 10% for industrial subscriber group, and 12.4% for agricultural activities subscriber group. With this increase, the amount payable for a residential subscriber with a consumption of 100 kWh of electricity will be 259.04 TL. In addition, based on the wholesale natural gas prices announced on BOTAŞ’s website, there is an average increase of 20% for industrial consumers and 24.2% for electricity generation plants in the final natural gas sales prices. These tariffs will be effective as of April 5, 2025. Respectfully announced to the public.”
