Zoe Winstanley, a 21-year-old woman suffering from postpartum depression, was found dead at her home in Manchester. It was revealed that Zoe had been feeling depressed for some time and had made comments to those around her about wanting to die. After putting her sleeping baby to bed, the unfortunate woman went to another room to commit suicide, where her boyfriend, Bradley Marshall, found her. Marshall moved Winstanley to the garden and performed CPR, but sadly, he could not save her. It was learned that the young woman, who had lost both her parents years ago, was experiencing deep depression after childbirth and often expressed a desire to commit suicide.
“SHE JUST WANTED TO BE LOVED”
Zoe Winstanley’s sister, Jessica King, said that they were taken into foster care after losing their parents. King said, “She just wanted to be loved. All she wanted was her own family. She dealt with many problems on her own.” Friends of Winstanley also recounted that she had made some comments about wanting to end her life just 3 days before her death. Forensic expert Michael Pemberton confirmed that after examinations, the young woman had died by drowning and that the incident was indeed a suicide.
