In the UK, a woman shared footage on social media of her 1-year-old son opening a container with the ashes of his deceased father and eating the contents. The woman explained on social media that her 1-year-old son consumed the ashes of his deceased grandfather after the body was cremated. According to The New York Post, the woman narrated her experience on her TikTok account and shared that she is still trying to “digest” what had happened. The incident took place in Lincolnshire, UK. Natasha Emeny discovered her son Koah consuming the ashes of his grandfather in a container as she briefly left to put dirty laundry upstairs and returned to find the child “covered in ashes.” Emeny recounted realizing that her son unknowingly ate his father’s ashes.
“PLEASE TELL ME THIS IS AN APRIL FOOL’S JOKE”
Speaking about her realization later on, the woman shared a video with her followers with the caption “When your child eats your father.” The video depicted the child’s clothes and face covered in ash as he wandered around. Subsequently, an empty decorative container containing the deceased man’s ashes was shown on camera, with ashes scattered around. In the video, Emeny used the words “My son ate my father’s ashes.” She explained that she had kept the container in a high place, thinking her son would not be able to reach it, but realized she was wrong.
It was reported that the young child did not experience any health issues after consuming the ashes, and the mother contacted the doctors who advised her to give her son some water, reassuring that he would be fine.
“MY FATHER WOULD LAUGH IF HE WERE ALIVE”
The video received numerous comments on social media. One person wrote, “Please tell me this is an April Fool’s joke.” In response, Emeny said, “I wish it were.” She added that if her father were alive, he would also find humor in the situation, stating, “He would definitely laugh at this; he loved dark humor.”
